Irish Classics (Convergences: Inventories of the Present)
What I’ve been reading (2022-04-17)

2. Declan Kiberd, Irish Classics .  One of the very best books on Ireland and Irish ideas, and more broadly I can recommend virtually anything by Kiberd.  Do note, however, that much of this book requires you have read the cited Irish classics under consideration.  Nonetheless there is insight on almost every page, recommended.

After Ireland
What I’ve been reading (2017-09-18)

2. Declan Kiberd, After Ireland: Writing the Nation from Beckett to the Present .  A very high quality and original look at how Irish literature reflects the nation’s development, though it assumes a fair knowledge of the works being discussed.

Ulysses and us
What I’ve been reading (2009-10-16)

1. Ulysses and Us: The Art and Everyday Life in Joyce's Masterpiece , by Declan Kiberd.  He argues that Ulysses is a fun book, a popular fiction, and easy to read.  I won't give away my copy to anyone, which you can take as an endorsement.
