Stalin's War
What I’ve been reading (2020-12-28)

I have not had time to read Sean McMeekin’s Stalin’s War: A New History of World War II , but it is of possible interest.

The Russian Revolution
What I’ve been reading (2017-06-12)

1. Sean McMeekin, The Russian Revolution: A New History .  Things might have been different, if you believe this book.  German support for Lenin was very important, and the author sticks to the main story lines.  Hard for me to judge, but at the very least it was interesting and also clearly written.

The Ottoman endgame
How important was the Sykes-Picot agreement anyway? (2015-11-19)

That is from the new and interesting The Ottoman Endgame: War, Revolution, and the Making of the Modern Middle East, 1908-1923 , by Sean McMeekin.

The Russian origins of the First World War
*The Russian Origins of the First World War* (2011-11-07)

That is the new book by Sean McMeekin ; I enjoyed it and found this passage striking:
